Program Description: First Generation College Bound and HOC are working together to make your college dreams come true! The program will offer an array of programs and services throughout your junior and senior year that will help you to successfully graduate high school and prepare for college admissions. This includes one-on-one coaching and student mentoring by FGCB’s College Success Coach, assistance with SAT preparation, FAFSA completion, college admission procedures, and more. Upon registration, you will receive further instructions on how to complete FGCB’s registration process to include the one-time payment of $25. Limited spots available and services provided on a first come first served basis.
Please note that calendar of events, coaching and mentoring sessions, workshops, etc. will be provided throughout the course of the academic year. Program workshops and mentoring sessions are mandatory for students. Parent/Guardian must participate in scheduled information sessions prior to registration. K & M STEAMsational Lab

Program Description: We have the perfect solution to keep your child involved in STEAM enrichment by engaging them in everyday STEAM activities like cooking, doing fun experiments, exploring, and more at home. This program will stimulate your child’s curiosity through science, engaging them with technology and engineering, art, and math activities. Enjoy these live interactive STEAM education sessions while learning to solve problems by using your critical thinking skills and having fun all at the same time. HOC Elementary-aged youth are welcome to register. Each session will be 1.5 hours long. There are 24 virtual spots available. The program registration deadline is Monday, November 28, 2022.
Program Highlights: STEAM activities to include arts & crafts, health & fitness, dance, and social and life skills activities. Parents or guardians will be required to pick up supplies once per month from a designated location. More information on pickup locations and schedules will be provided after registration is completed. Supervision by a parent or guardian may be required for activities. Each child will be provided with all supplies needed for activities, guided instruction, a personal log-in link, a completion certificate, and a gift for perfect attendance.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about managing their finances, learn how to budget to help pay for rent and utilities, learn how to access resources to help increase income. This virtual information session is facilitated by resident service counsel Shirley Benning
The virtual informational sessions will be held on the first Wednesday of each month.

Program Description: Everyone needs safe, decent and stable housing. This interactive workshop focuses on the agency’s mission in keeping residents housed in the various housing programs that the Housing Opportunities Commission has to offer. The workshop attempts to empower participants with information that will assist them in being successful with housing. The workshop combines effective strategies and information on available resources that can help a resident to successfully maintain his/her housing. Participants will develop a better understanding of his/her housing program and guidelines and the rights and responsibilities outlined in a lease. Must register online to participate. Registered participants will receive virtual instructions.
